I am delighted that you have an interest in visiting Our Lady’s RC Primary School’s website and hope you find what you are looking for.

Our school is a Catholic school that sits on the southern side of the city. We attract children from Catholic families as well as from families who want their child to be educated within the framework of a faith school. We currently have two hundred children on roll. Our staff are all very committed to the Catholic ethos, which shows in their dedication and care for each child as a special gift from God to be cherished and nourished.

At Our Lady’s, we pride ourselves in holding high expectations for all children. We want them to achieve their absolute best in the academic subjects of English and Mathematics; we also want them to enjoy a range of experiences in all other National Curriculum subjects, gaining relevant knowledge and skills to interest them and ensure they are ready for the next phase of their education. We want them to thrive in a positive environment that finds and focuses upon their individual strengths, whether that be sport, drama, technologies, music or any other subject.

As you would expect of a Catholic school, Religious Education has a high profile within subjects taught, with the children in Year 3 being offered the opportunity to receive the Sacraments of First Confession and First Holy Communion. We are very fortunate that the school and the parish church of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs share the same site, which means that the children make frequent visits to the church, have Mass there and get to know the parish priest, Father Andrew, very well.

The school staff and governors are very committed to the belief that children learn best and achieve most when school and home develop a close working relationship. There are various events throughout the year to which parents and families are invited so that you can become very involved in your child’s education.

Our children are our best ambassadors and can show you for themselves how happy they are at Our Lady’s. I will be very proud to show you around the school and to provide any additional information you require. Please telephone the school office on 01432 274814 or email admin@our-ladys.hereford.sch.uk to make an appointment.
